SCYLLA

An intimate moment of poised elegance and spatial tension.

At the heart of this composition, Lucio Fontana’s Concetto Spaziale, Attesa (1964) introduces a conceptual rupture—its single, precise slash framed in gilded opulence invites contemplation of the void. Beneath it, a rare Macassar ebony dressing table by Paul Fréchet (c. 1930) anchors the wall with Art Deco geometry and delicate craftsmanship, paired with a sculptural mirror by Line Vautrin (c. 1980) whose convex surface subtly distorts the surrounding space.

To the left, the supple curve of the Jean Royère ‘Baquet’ armchair (c. 1950) offers quiet comfort, its silhouette echoing the rhythm of the drapery. Nearby, a “Chimène” wall sconce by Félix Agostini (1950s) casts a warm, sculptural glow—its brass form as lyrical as it is refined.

The space opens beyond a fabric-draped archway, framing a ghostly vignette of another room: a nod to the unseen, the unfinished, and the privately held. Together, these elements converse in quiet luxury—a stage set for introspection and elegance.
