ARES
In the foreground, I placed a stunning four-seater sofa by Pierre Chareau (1883–1950), crafted in Macassar ebony veneer. The design features full armrests and subtly rounded, sloping cuffs, epitomizing Chareau’s sophisticated aesthetic.
The background is adorned with remarkable artworks, including Amedeo Modigliani’s Juan Gris (1915) and Frida Kahlo’s Self-Portrait in a Velvet Dress (1926), which imbue the space with artistic depth and contrast.
Suspended above is a magnificent lantern originally made for l’Hôtel de la Marine, Paris, and to the right stands ‘Chouette Perchée’ (circa 2004) by François-Xavier Lalanne (1927–2008), a whimsical yet refined sculptural element.
